Nicci has been a chef for over 20 years ago – starting her career working with Albert Roux of Roux Fine Dining in London. She moved out of London 8 years ago to start a smallholding and catering business with her husband, Julian.
Local Kent ingredients from the smallholder With cooking Nicci always starts with the basics and this means finding the freshest finest local ingredients. Nicci uses ingredients grown on her smallholding but is also passionate about sourcing further ingredients locally.
Cooking with insects When we approached Nicci Gurr from Home Gurr’Own with our idea for an insect-themed Valentine’s meal, we got just the reaction we were after. “Wow! We’d love to be involved. How exciting!” By chance, Nicci was already smitten with Eat Grub, the Brighton-based purveyor of edible bugs.
