- Complete wedding flowers
18th May 2019
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
On this course we will show you how to make a classic hand-tied bouquet, a buttonhole and a variety of table decorations.
Learning how to make a classic hand-tied bouquet is a skill that, once learnt, will always come in handy (‘scuse the pun.) It will enable you to turn a simple selection of flowers and foliage into a bridal bouquet, bridesmaid’s bouquet or a flower-girl’s posy… and enable you to make lovely gift bouquets at a later date.
After learning how to create a hand-tied bouquet we will then look at the techniques involved in making a buttonhole, from choosing the best flowers and foliage to taping and wiring them. Lastly, we will discuss the options for table arrangements, and how to best to use natural, seasonal flowers.
Jen is on hand to give tips and guidance and there will be lots of lovely blooms for you to choose from at this time of year. Topics covered will include: selecting flowers, preparing and conditioning them, components of a bouquet and other floral arrangements as well as naturalistic structure.
Although we are holding this workshop in May, it’s still worth bringing warm clothing just in case, as our shed can be quite cool.
Perfect for brides-to-be who have opted for our Pick-Your-Own Wedding Flowers… or for budding florists. Refreshments, local produce lunch — and picnic area — provided.
