Collecting your own seeds is a great way to save money and grow the varieties that you love. Rather than sneaking around your favourite gardens, slipping a few seeds into your pocket, why not come to our flower plot and ‘fill your boots’ — or at least a few brown paper bags. At this time of year, the Blooming Green plot is full of interesting seed heads, which you can gather to take home and create your own cutting patch. Bek is on hand to give tips on choosing, preparing, saving and storing your seed and any questions are welcome. Tea, coffee and cake will also be in ready supply.
Shelter is provided by our shed but it’s wise to dress up warm and wear comfy shoes or wellies if it’s wet. Other than that, just bring yourselves, and enjoy some informal learning at Blooming Green.
