We first spotted these wonderful rose hips on a trip to our favourite garden show in Belgium and couldn’t resist. On this workshop we show you how to make an autumnal, rose-hip wreath using our home-grown willow to make a base before decorating it using rustic twine and sprigs of rose hips. If left to dry slowly, in the cool and dry, the wreath will last for weeks or even months. (One lady we know, had kept hers to use the following year!)
The workshop will start with a demo from Bek, our resident willow-weaver, who will show you how to make a willow base, before you get to make your own. Once you’ve made your willow base, we stop for a tea / coffee and cake break, then stay indoors to decorate our wreaths.
Although shelter is provided by our shed but it’s wise to dress up warm and wear comfy shoes or wellies if it’s wet. Other than that, just bring yourselves, and enjoy some informal learning at Blooming Green.
